The Split Squat is a single leg exercise that predominantly works the Quads muscle at the front of the thigh. However, many clients and gym-goers in general will have issues with balance when first setting up.
The one leg forward, one leg back set up, along with being on your toes on the rear foot is not an easy position to be in if your balance is poor or having not performed these before.
By simply placing yourself close to a rack, wall or bench you will increase your confidence in completing the exercise without the fear of falling over or feeling self-conscious if performing in a crowded gym.
Thanks for watching and reading, I would love a share if you found this beneficial to your own training!
